Rachel Elias received her M.F.A from USC in May of 2009 for Film and Television Production, with an emphasis in cinematography. She completed her B.A. in 2006 from USC’s Critical Studies division in the film school, with a minor in Digital Media-Based Imaging from the School of Fine Arts.

Her interest in cinematography was sparked by her passion for photography, which began in high school. As photo editor of USC’s newspaper, The Daily Trojan, during her undergraduate career, she loved creating and capturing significant moments for the paper, including shooting over 30 USC football games on the field and across the country. Photojournalism and still photography are very much a part of her life to this day, as she continues to challenge herself in all things visual.
